DESCRIPTION

This new cable stay bridge is located about 10 miles East of Louisville, crossing the Ohio River. The bridge links Kentucky Highway 841 to Indiana Highway 265, creating an alternate route across the Ohio River. The total length of the cable-stayed structure is 2,280 ft (695 m) with a main span of 1,200 ft (365 m) providing a minimum clearance for the navigation channel of 900 ft x 71 ft (274 m x 22 m).

SERVICES PROVIDED / DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provided consulting / mentoring for all geometry control / dimensional confirmation checks and related post-processing of measurement data of the pylons as they progressed into the cable anchor zones.

  • As-built the first few cable anchorage boxes for the pylon heads, to assess as-fabricated 3D geometry precision.

  • Conducted risk analysis of the proposed deck erection methodology.

  • Witnessed the first few deck segment erections / cable stay installations - for potential geometry control issues.
