Litigation Support

Surveying / Geometry Control expertise:

  • Perform risk analysis of the means and methods used in the contested project, prior to arbitration, mediation or litigation commencement, to identify strengths for our arguments or potential weaknesses to defend against in cross examination

  • Demonstrate the difference between random, pseudo-random and systematic errors in survey measurements, in identifying actual as-built construction errors vs apparent errors.

  • Perform forensic audits of the final geometry, to identify potential sources of systematic construction errors, such as precast segment match casting faults, steel girder temperature variations from the reference temperatures, weld heat induced stress release during transportation, etc.

  • Examination of the original contract specifications for ambiguities - such as logic clashes between local and global tolerances, or unclear RFI responses to technical issues.
