The design is a cable-stayed bridge with a total length of 1,052 m (3451 feet). Its main arch measures 320 meters (1,050 feet) and has an elevation of 80 meters (262 feet) above the Panama Canal to allow larger vessels to pass through below it. The bridge is supported by two towers of 184 m (604 ft) high. Has the ability to accommodate 6 lanes of traffic through the canal. The bridge was designed to withstand significant seismic movement.

Services Provided / Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provided independent specialist survey consultancy, to perform a survey department audit.
  • Subsequently developed a survey methodology for geometry control of the ‘cast in place’ deck and embedded cable anchorages.
